How to Use Kolam Raw Rice

Pressure Cooker Method

Ingredients:

1 cup Wada Kolam Raw Rice
2 to 2.5 cups water
Salt (optional)

Steps:

Rinse rice 2–3 times to remove excess starch.
Optional: Soak for 15–20 minutes.
Add rice and water to a pressure cooker.
Cook on medium flame for 2 whistles.
Allow pressure to release naturally. Fluff gently before serving.

Open Pot Method

Rinse rice and soak for 20 minutes.
Use 1:2.5 or 1:3 water-to-rice ratio.
Bring water to a boil, add rice.
Cook uncovered for 15–18 minutes.
Drain excess water and let it rest covered for 5 minutes before serving.
