How to Use HMT Kitchadi Ponni Rice

Pressure Cooker Method

This rice is parboiled, so it requires less soaking and cooks faster than raw rice.

1 cup HMT Kitchadi Ponni Rice
2.25 to 2.5 cups water
Salt (optional)

Instructions:

Rinse rice 2–3 times to remove starch.
Optional: Soak for 20–30 minutes for even cooking.
Add to pressure cooker with water.
Cook on medium flame for 2–3 whistles.
Let the pressure release naturally. Fluff and serve hot.

Open Pot/Boiling Method

Rinse and soak rice for 30 minutes.
Use 1:3 rice-to-water ratio.
Cook on medium flame for 15–20 minutes or until tender.
Drain excess water and let it rest covered for 5 minutes before serving.
