How to Use Akshaya Ponni Rice
Ingredients (for 2–3 servings):
1 cup semi-polished rice
2.5 to 3 cups water
Salt to taste (optional)
Method 1: Open Pot Method
Wash the rice thoroughly 2–3 times to remove excess starch.
Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes (improves texture and reduces cooking time).
Boil 2.5–3 cups of water in a heavy pot.
Add the soaked rice and salt (optional).
Cook uncovered on medium heat for 15–20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
Drain excess water if any. Let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and serve.
Method 2: Pressure Cooker Method
Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes.
Use a 1:2.5 rice-to-water ratio.
Pressure cook for 3 whistles on medium flame.
Allow the steam to release naturally. Fluff and serve.
