How to Use How to Cook Vadi (Jyothi) Matta Rice

Pressure Cooker Method

Due to the intact bran layer, Vadi Matta rice takes longer to cook and requires more water than white rice but delivers unmatched nutrition and taste.

Ingredients:

1 cup Vadi Matta Rice
3.5 to 4 cups water
Salt (optional)

Instructions:

Rinse the rice thoroughly 2–3 times.
Soak for 6–8 hours or overnight to reduce cooking time.
Add to a pressure cooker with water.
Cook for 5–6 whistles on medium flame.
Let the pressure release naturally. Fluff and serve.

Open Pot/Boiling Method

Soak rice for 6–8 hours for best results.
Boil 5 cups water for every 1 cup of rice.
Add rice and cook uncovered for 40–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once cooked, drain excess water and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
